At our oiling facility in Campo, California we are creating some of the deepest, most eye
pleasing factory oiled hardwood flooring in the industry.
Although oil finishes can be applied to any hardwood flooring for an incredibly
beautiful real wood look, Casa Bella has created two collections that display the oils true
beauty.
The first collection, for those that desire a clean, streamlined, sophisticated look we
have created the Mark Christopher
Collection. Our second collection, we call the Casa Bella Collection for those who
prefer a more Rustic look and feel. Both collections are available at fine flooring stores throughout the United States.
The Mark Christopher Collection boasts an incredibly gorgeous high quality clean look that any
top quality hotel or even the most discerning homeowner can fall in love with. The Casa
Bella Collection has a more time worn real world look that is very popular today.
Did you say hardwood flooring in a high traffic hotel?
That's Right, unlike aluminum oxide or urethane finishes, oil finishes are
easily repaired if and when scratches appear on the floor. Second to the beauty of oil,
repair ability is the most valuable benefit of using oil finishes on our flooring. Oil finishes,
when scratched, can be easily repaired by simply applying a coat of maintenance oil over the
affected area. In contrast, when a scratch appears on such popular finishes as aluminum oxide or
urethane there is little that can be done to hide the big glaring white scratches. That
is why, Oil is king when it comes to a high quality look and repair ability.
Never have to sand and refinish your floors again!
The third most valuable reason we use European oil finish is because unlike
standard Tung oil or other local oil
finishes our oils harden becoming part of the wood floors surface.
Hardening Oil unlike standard oils do not need to be constantly reapplied because they
do not dry out and look dead. Although any oil provides very good protection and is easy
to maintain European finishes are the best for use on traffic surfaces such as
flooring.
Why haven't I seen more Oil Finishes on Flooring?
Until recently in America oiled floors have been sold in only the highest end designer
showrooms at prices up to $30.00 a square foot. Oil prices have remained very high due
to the fact that there has not been a factory producing prefinished oiled flooring ready
to be installed at a reasonable price. Most oiled floors have been finished on site by
high paid professionals driving the cost of this beautiful finish up, so that only the
wealthy can afford it. Casa Bella Fine Finishes have made a furniture grade oiled
flooring line that is affordable to the common man that desires the finer things in
life. Contact your local dealer for regional pricing.
What is the History of Oil Finishes?
Oiled flooring is not a new concept, it has been used in Europe for centuries. In Europe,
where a very real natural looking floor has been in demand for quite some time, oil
finishes account for almost a third of all wood floor finishes. It has been used
in Museums and Commercial locations for years not to mention some well known Castles. Casa Bella is so impressed with it's look
and quality it was the only choice for our high quality Mark Christopher Collection.
Our oil finishing products are constantly researched and improved at the
manufacturer’s laboratories in Europe, always meeting the highest possible
environmental standards. Our finishes are also approved and certified by
independent laboratories, such as IBR, the German Institute for Biological Building
Materials, and are in accordance with DIN-Norm 53-160. Our finishes also meet or
exceed the most stringent VOC (volatile organic compounds) regulations in North America
including some with Zero VOC's.
Do Oil Finishes need Wax Over them?
Absolutely Not! Oil Finishes should not be confused with the Tung Oil and
Wax finishes. Our finishes are high quality hardening oil, so let your Grandmother know
she won't be on her knees applying wax like she did when she was growing up.
Why should I choose an oiled floor?
If you are tired of cheap plastic looking hardwood floors and would prefer the
natural luster of a fine hardwood floor than an oiled floor is what you have been
wanting. Consider these points:
Oiled floors have a beautiful deep expensive looking appearance not a cheap plastic look like
aluminum oxide or urethane floors.
Oiled floors can be repaired very easily and do not need to be sanded down to do so.
Oil finishes do not scratch white like aluminum oxide finishes.
Sun shining through a window on an oiled surface enhances it's gorgeous natural
qualities and will not reflect back at you like urethane finishes.
Our finishes harden giving your floor great protection from spills and traffic.
Casa Bella Fine Flooring is making this high quality finish affordable to consumers.
